November 2011 – The MICHE wheels test campaign started last September is still open!
By going to one of the MICHE test point you could test the new Supertype 358 RS wheels, the new wheelset presented for 2012 season.
The new Supertype 358 RS wheels present some technical upgrades than the 2011 model, that especially concern the use of aluminum nipples and titanium components in the freewheel body.
Following numerous bench and road tests, it has been introduced a special anodization treatment of the Ergal 7075 nipples that guarantees the perfect matching of the spoke avoiding irregular slacks, and that inhibits the formation of oxide within the nipple thus ensuring the possibility to true the wheel in case of need.
The second important upgrade is the use of titanium components in the freewheel body: a solution that has allowed the lighting of the hub saving the reliability of the wheel.
Thanks to these improvements has been achieved the considerable weight of 1.215gr per wheelset, providing a limited tolerance to 3%.
The new graphics in which the wheels Supertype 358 RS are presented provides two finishings: the "dark grey" finishing is designed for the cyclist who wants to match the wheels with any color of the bicycle, the effect of tone-tone makes them very elegant and matched with any finishing of the frame. The "white" finishing is proposed for those who want the aggressive and competitive nature of the typical high-performance wheels such as Supertype 358 RS.
